Refractive and laser eye surgery
What is laser eye surgery?
Am I suitable?
You will need to have a consultation with one of our ophthalmic surgeons who will conduct an in-depth assessment to determine your own suitability and tailor an individual solution to you.
Laser eye surgery may not be suitable for people who need very strong glasses, or whose main problem is dependence on reading glasses.
You may not be able to have laser eye surgery if you have the following:
Diabetes – your condition must be controlled
Glaucoma – your condition must be controlled
Dry eyes – suitability for treatment depends on the severity of your condition
Certain medical conditions – such as rheumatoid arthritis
Under 21 – your prescription must have been stable for a few years
Pregnant/breastfeeding – you will need to wait three months after weaning
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to arrange a free, no-obligation consultation to determine your suitability. Even if you are not suitable for laser eye surgery, Eye Surgery Scotland has other procedures that may help such as lens replacement.
